Introduction of the laboratory center

The lab center was established with the purpose of meeting the need of high alloy materials research and development, manufacture test and testing items and requirements of “China Petrochemical Ethylene Cracking Furnace with high alloy centrifugal casting furnace tube and static cast fittings quality inspection methods". It can meet the requirements of high alloy products in all the test items, and petrochemical high alloy furnace tube life assessment of laboratory test requirements.

The center includes three laboratories:

Metallographic analysis laboratory

by means of chemical manual analysis and instrumental analysis of high alloy material chemical composition, NPA established the method for the analysis to 27 kind of elements - C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, Ni, Mo, Nb, W, Ti, Zr, Al, Cu, B, La, CE, O, N, H, Se, Pb, Sn, As, Sb, Zn.


Mechanical properties laboratory

high temperature endurance, elevated/high temperature short-term, room temperature tensile performance and hardness testing items.

Metallographic analysis laboratory

To meet manufacture needs and conduct general structure analysis of the metal materials, including low-time metallographic observation and high times metallographic microstructure analysis and examination, magnetic permeability test, and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) on the material microstructure characterization and failure analysis, especially for the product life analysis after use.

The equipments

Direct reading spectrometer, ONH analyzer, high temperature endurance testing machine, universal testing machine, see snake, high temperature corrosion test furnace, magnetic permeability testing instrument etc. In the near future,

NPA will be equipped with high temperature creep testing machine and scanning electron microscope (SEM), and will become the first manufacturer in China to meet all test requirements for petrochemical high alloy furnace tube.
